GSS Back to School Blog Hop

If you are here for the Fall Blog Hop please click here.

Welcome to our Back To School Blog Hop with the Ginger Snap Scraps Design Team!

This weekend we will be featuring projects all about Back To School. Can you believe school has started!?
We hope you enjoy all of the great work this Design Team has done and find some inspiration.

If you just came from Cheryl then you are in the right place. If not please start at the beginning

For this month's project I decided to create an altered composition book. My boys love using these books for school and for fun. One of them has become the secret code holder for video games. LOL!

I went with a more mature theme on this one because I do have a High Schooler now! I can't make him anything lame...you know? ROFL!

Thankfully this Basic Grey Set "Oxford" was perfect for High Schoolers and even for College age.
I used both the Oxford Patterned Paper and the Chip Stickers to match. I also added some ribbon and buttons from my stash. You can purchase Basic Grey, Tim Holtz Distressing Ink in Brown, and the fun Twine (used on the buttons) at Ginger Snap Scraps.

I have never added a bookmarker to a composition book and thought it would be fun to do. I love it! The ribbon is discretely placed on the front cover and you can place it in between whatever pages you need saved.

I will be giving away some blog candy of my own!! YAY! It's a surprise Grab Bag of fun embellishments! So if you want to win leave a comment here and on my other blog hop
this weekend with Creative Kuts. I will draw one winner from all comments left. Oh and be sure you are my follower!! Leave your info so I can contact you. Good luck!

Photo Box BAP #29

What is a BAP? It's a free file that you can request from CK every Monday. The only catch is you have to create it and upload it by Sunday.

This past week our BAP was so cool!!! Check out this File Box. It can be used for photos, recipes, receipts, love notes, whatever you cherish. I think this would make a lovely Christmas gift or even a neat Bridal Shower gift. I plan on making more of these, that is for sure!!

The size of this box is 7" long, 4" wide and 5.25" tall.
Perfect for 4 x 6 pictures or recipes.

I used chipboard, Tim Holtz Ink, StorytellersClub patterned paper, Brown cardstock, Bo Bunny chipboard embellies, some pearls, and a large white silk flower folded in half.

It has ten folders inside that you can file your photos or other items in.

It opens simply by lifting up the lid and then you can close it by slipping the lid under the buckle.

This was cut with a SVG file that can be purchased at Creative Kuts!

If you don't have a machine that can cut SVG files there are other formats available as well as patterns where you can them out by hand.

I hope that you have enjoyed my project as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you. I love receiving comments and new followers. It means so much to me! So please feel free to drop me a note and follow my blog for more inspiration, giveaways, and tips.

Creative Kuts "Hearty Harvest"

Hi friends! Welcome to another busy day of creating! If you are looking for my Ginger Snap Scraps post then please go here.

Today I created this cute Fall Harvest layout using Creative Kuts' Hearty Harvest File. I seriously can not believe this file is only $3.00, it's that gorgeous!!

I used some random patterned paper I had laying around the house along with cardstock, pop dots, ink, and twine.

Check out the detail on my little girl. She has tons of red curly hair and big blue eyes. Real red buttons accent her overalls. By using one of CK's Boy faces this could easily become a boy themed layout as well.

Each piece of wheat is cut individually, inked and glued in place.

There is harvest a plenty here: tomato, pumpkin, corn, squash and eggplant.

I hope you can appreciate the amount of time and love that went in to this layout. I think this is my favorite yet!
I also created a new video for you to watch. I hope it helps at least one person with their inking techniques. Mind you I am no pro!! LOL!
I hope that you have enjoyed my project as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you. I love receiving comments and new followers. It means so much to me! So please feel free to drop me a note and follow my blog for more inspiration, giveaways, and tips.

Blast Off Gift Bag

Hello again my scrappy friends! Today at Ginger Snap Scraps it's all about Fancy Pants Designs!
I am a huge Fancy Pants fan!! Love love love their cute paper pads and embellies.

I had so much fun creating this Blast Off Gift Bag.

Matching items I used for this gift  bag include Fancy Pants Paper and Design Embellishments from Ginger Snap Scraps as well as twine.

This gift bag also matches my Out of This World Card.
So by now you all know how much I adore Action Wobbles!! Well this rocket is no exception. With just a slight push this rocket is ready to Blast on out of here.

I can't wait to give this to a special little boy!!

I hope that you have enjoyed my project as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you. I love receiving comments and new followers. It means so much to me! So please feel free to drop me a note and follow my blog for more inspiration, giveaways, and tips.

Out of This World Card

This card makes me smile out loud!
Especially when his google eyes move all over the place.
This fun little card measure 4.25" x 5.5" and was created just for the Cards TV Challenge #12 Anything Goes and Die Cuttin Divas Anything Goes Challenge #76. Wohoo!

My little monster was cut on the cricut with Mini Monsters. I used the largest Peachy Keen Stamp on the Monster Mash Face set and then went over the stamp with my black Glaze pen. I also couldn't resist adding those google eyes!

Other matching items I used for this kid card include Fancy Pants Paper and Design Embellishments from Ginger Snap Scraps. From my stash here at home I also used a button, twine, Tim Holtz tiny attacher staples, felt rick rack and my label maker by Dynamo.

And yes you guessed it!! That is an Action Wobble! One flick and my little space monster is ready to take flight! Gosh I love those things!

Be sure to come back Friday and check out my matching gift bag. It's super cute and wobbles too!

I hope that this card makes someone smile as much as crafting makes me smile!
I hope that you have enjoyed my project as much as I enjoyed sharing it with you. I love receiving comments and new followers. It means so much to me! So please feel free to drop me a note and follow my blog for more inspiration, giveaways, and tips.
