Scrapbook Friday

2/17/12
This week's theme is Kitchen/Baking

I am excited to share this layout with you because not only do I love Baking and being in my kitchen but I love these two kids the MOST. I chose to create this layout loosely based off a pagemaps sketch (left side only and thanks to Becky Fleck). The paper I chose is from TPC Studio and it is sooo cute. I also used Bazzill, silver paper (borrowed from a friend) , candy buttons, CM and Storytellersclub alpha stickers, a brad, and a journal box.My fun lacy borders were punched with and EK Success Punch. I used 2 Cricut Carts for this fun layout: Carousel and of course From My Kitchen. So let's get down to details...
My fun banner was created using Carousel. I cut the banner 2 .78 inches on my Gypsy and actually trimmed a few flags to make it fit in my area. I added the word One with CM letters and added candy buttons for some fun detail. My oh so cute silver measuring spoons are cut at 2 .5" using From My Kitchen.

The rest of my diecuts all came from From My Kitchen as well. This oven mit and the spatula were cut at 3 .5 inches as well as my mixer, down below (don't you just love it?).

My rolling pin containing the year we made these Christmas Cookies was cut at 5" long. I think it could have been even bigger but that's ok. I hope you all enjoyed my layout and can't wait to read all of your responses. I worked hard on this one and can honestly say this is my first real layout since my accident. Wohooo!

Masculine Valentine's Day Frame

Happy Valentine's Day
Just wanted to share this custom frame I made for a friend. She gave it to her husband today for Valentine's Day and I hope he loved it. Since he's a guy, I didn't want to make it all frilly and pink so fortunately this kit from Storytellers Club's February 2012 kit was perfect. I thought my friend could write a small message or have the girls sign the small diecut on the bottom right corner. Wouldn't that be cute? Hope you like it and thanks for looking.

WYEGW- My Cricut Craft Room

Welcome to WYEGW (Would you ever guess Wednesday). To see more WYEGW projects please visit My Cricut Craft Room.

For this week's WYEGW I decided it was time to finally make the 12x12 layout of my blog logo for my scraproom/scrapstore. I used a frame purchased from Michaels along with Storytellers Club paper and images. I accented with some jumbo buttons and floss and colored the images with my copics.
So where exactly did  the Cricut come in to play? Well for my name of course. And would you have ever guessed the font I used is from the Batman Cricut Cartridge. Using the Font Feature on the Batman Cart I cut the letters of my name out at 1.75" tall. Now I have a great decoration for my scrap place.
Thanks for stopping by...come back soon to my place that is WILD about scrapbooking.

My Cricut Craft Room's 100 Cartridge Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome to My Cricut Craft Room's
100 Cricut Cartridge Blog Hop Day 2
You should have come from Amber's Blog
if not please start at the beginning http://mycricutcraftroom.blogspot.com
Next you should go to Jenn L

I am so excited to share with you 3 new projects. First off is my Chore Chart I created for my boys. This is especially coming in handy while I recover from my accident. I love it. Below is my grid for my chart. I used Vinyl on the entire project. Shown is white vinyl matted with red vinyl. (yes you can use paper too)(but you'll see why I chose vinyl) The lines are drawn on with a sharpie using a ruler. The squares are 1 1/4" and the grid is 18 wide by 11 1/2 tall.

Using the Chore Chart Cartridge I cut the days of the week out in vinyl at 1 1/4".

I then cut the symbol for each chore at the same height.

So why vinyl? Well because after I finished this I stuck it on my fridge and we used a whiteboard pen to write down who gets what chore. It is brilliant! Should have done this so much sooner!

My next project is a cute gift idea for any disney lover. Who doesn't love Minnie? Using some random cardtsock and paper I had on hand as well as my In Stitch'z by Bazzill, I created a fun frame.

Using a template from In Stitch'z and some red floss I created this giant flower on the background paper.

For my finishing touches I added Minnie Mouse cut out with the Mickey Font Cartridge at 5 1/2". I added a few flowers and pearls on the inside as well as two on the outside for dimension. My finished 6x6 frame would amke any Disney fan happy.

And finally a cute lil card with some western flair. For this card I used Stampin Up paper, Rusty Pickle paper and cardstock along with ribbons, pop dots and a black Glaze pen (my favs).
The Cricut Cartridge I used is Old West. Such fun cuts! I cut out background Poster at 4" and cut the star at 2.5".  The horseshoe was cut at 2" and pop dotted for a 3D effect. I added some ribbon in the middle of the star and outlined "WANTED" with my black pen. This card is perfect for my next little buckaroo's party.

Theme Day Thursday- My Cricut Craft Room

If you have just started following my blog I would like to tell you about Theme Day Thursday and Cartridge exploration. Each day of the week, we make items with either a challenge, theme or a cartridge. Today's theme is Winter Sports.
For more great Sports projects please check out
My Cricut Craft Room.
I don't have photos of anything sport related to crop at the moment so I decided to make a blank layout and make it my January Kit of the month. Below is the base of the layout with all of the mats attached. I kept it simple by using bazzill cardstock only.

For the left side of the layout I used Sports Mania to cut all my cricut images. The football is cut at 2", the cleat is cut at 2.5", the goal post is cut at 2.5" but I had to trim the bottom of the post off a hair. The helmet is cut at 2" and my title Football is Life is cut at 2.7". I also used the EK Success postage stamp border punch for the yellow strips and attached them with square brads.

For the right side of this 2 pager I also used images from Sports Mania. I cut the football player out at 5" tall and cut the Touch Down phrase at 2". I added a journal bow in the top right corner and used the border punch to accent it.

And that's it..the cool thing about this layout is you can change the yellow cardstock to any color of your favorite team. Just in time for Super Bowl pics. Thanks for visiting my blog...please be sure to come back again. I love new friends.

Digital Makes my Heart Sing

Sometimes you just need to do a digital layout. Especially like now, when you are recovery from an accident and need to sit in bed all day. Just pop open your laptop and away you go creating almost anything your heart desires. Here are my latest 2 digital layouts I created using StorytellersClub Kits. Both of these layouts were made as entries to the StorytellersClub discussion board challenges. Fun.

Theme Day Thursday- My Cricut Craft Room

If you have just started following my blog I would like to tell you about Theme Day Thursday and Cartridge exploration. Each day of the week, we make items with either a challenge, theme or a cartridge. Today's theme is Birthdays.
For more great Birthday projects please check out
My Cricut Craft Room.
I decided that this theme was perfect for finally scrapbooking my hubby's birthday pics, so I created a one page layout. The inspiration for this layout came from Scrapbooks Etc. August 2011 edition page 84.
I started with my back ground cardstock and layered a second smaller cardstock on top.

Using the Birthday Bash Cartridge I cut the birthday hat out at 4" and using the Monkey Key Phrase I cut the cake out at 4.5"

I cut several circles out of patterned paper using the Creative Memories Circle cutters and gathered all my supplies including the Martha Stewart Loopy Border Punch.

Using my I Rock by Imaginesce I added bling around the large cirle with the cake in it.

Other items used include buttons and floss and alphabet stickers from StorytellersClub and Rusty Pickle. I could have cut letters out but wanted to use up some of  my stickers.

And here it is the finished layout. I hope you find some inspiration from my layout and can't wait to read your comments. Thanks so much for visiting my blog and please be sure to become a follower. It means so much to me. Hugs.

Dream Big

This layout is a digital layout using the Dream Big Digi Kit at Storytellersclub. It's also my entry for my January Recipe Challenge on Storytellersclub's discussion boards. As most of you know I recently had a major accident and this layout is my way of reminding me that I am lucky to be alive and there is hope. Someday I will be back to myself, my normal happy, healthy, hopeful, self. Thanks for looking.
