Question of the Week

Remember.. I want you to answer the question in the comment section too!
AND
if  you have a question to ask for an upcoming week add that in the comments too, if you ask a question and I use it you will win a prize!!

This week's question comes from Dawn at Designsbydragonfly
she wants to know:
Do you send out Valentine cards to friends and family or do you limit it to your significant other?

Connie- To be honest some years I do and some years I don't. I guess it depends on how much time I have and whether or not I am feeling the love! LOL! Some years my hubby doesn't eve get a card. I just feel like sometimes they don't get appreciated by him so why waste my time. When my nieces and nephews were little it was fun to send them cards but they are bigger now. And my own kids could care less. Sigh! Someday I am gonna be a Grandma and then it's game on!

DaphneI give Valentines to my children and fiancé and that's it

Angela- I would love to have the time to send one to everyone, but unfortunately I don't. Heck, half my husband doesn't even get one! I do make sure the kids go to school with some awesome Valentine treats for their class though!
 smile emoticon
Veronica- I mostly do cards or goodies for my children's teachers and for them, but that's it. I am terrible about giving my husband his card and never do even though I make them.

Kim-  I'm all over the place with this. One year I'll send them to lots of people and the next year I don't send any at all. I've been trying to make cards for challenges and hops that are useful to send as well...so this year I will be mailing out several.

ok, It's your turn to answer!!

Dawn send me a message to claim your prize!! And thanks for the great question!!

Last day to enter!! New challenge begins tomorrow!!

Design Team: Burping Cloths Cake

Hi,

It's Veronica from Vicky's Scrapping Passion
sharing with you a fun project a did for one of my children's teachers, who just became a Grandma for the first time:

This I decided to make a diaper cake inspired by one of our dear bloghoping friends: Hollie, but then got convinced otherwise ;-)

I collaborated in this project with my dear friend, Andrea (Stitched by Andrea, who doesn't blog yet). She is nuts about embroidering and sewing and helped me making this super cute burping cloths:
She did besides convincing me on the burping cloths do a fantastic job:

I made the cake topper using the Disney-Pooh Font set cart, and made did card as well using my Cricut Explorer. I even did some writing with it ;-) (so proud of myself)...

I used  Connie's shop  cabochon and button:

I hope you enjoy this project and visit me to see further pictures of this collaborative project.

Snow Fun

Hello my Crafty Friends!!
I am super excited to be posting as a designer for Paper Crafting World today. I am so delighted to be able to share these adorable cut and digital files with you.

I am here today with another adorable wintertime layout featuring two cute files from Paper Crafting World.
I combined the Snow Fun Layout CF (this file is on sale for $1.00) (WOW!)  with the Snowman HFS Sign CF (also $1.00). You better head over to the shop now!!

I added pop dots for some dimension and inked most of my pieces.
This snowman had a country feel to me so I decided to add faux stitching to some of the components. I am glad I did. I love the result!
I also added a few tiny buttons to the centers of the snowflakes.
The Happy Freezin Season sign is actually a Print then Cut which worked out perfectly. It's super cute too!

Check out the store, there's so many amazing files. You can find a file for every need: digital, printable or even cuttable.
Be sure to stop by Paper Crafting World and see all the great files waiting for you!

Don't forget about Paper Crafting World's month long challenge. Grab the latest freebies and play along!

Don't forget to check out the Jan Challenge!! Just a few days left!

Question of the Week

Remember.. I want you to answer the question in the comment section too!
AND
if  you have a question to ask for an upcoming week add that in the comments too, if you ask a question and I use it you will win a prize!!

This week's question comes from GAIL
she wants to know:
What is the best type of glue to use? - I am experimenting with glues but would like to know what others have found that work well.

Connie- I use a variety of tapes. My go to is the ATG gun. I use that for most paper things. I also love pop dots and am not really picky on which brand. For embellishments like buttons and bling I use CTMH's Liquid glass. It's the bomb!! I also use a Xyron and a CTMH glue pen for Cricut cuts and can't forget the jumbo CTMH glue pen for restickying my Cricut mat.

DaphneIt depends what I am using it for. For paper I like Scott's. If I need it to be clear I use Zip Dry and Helmar. And if I am trying to adhere wood or metal I use E6000!!
There are so many types of adhesives that it is very much just a personal preference.

AngelaI was going to write the same thing as Veronica!! I love liquid glass...atg gun is my go to for big stuff and I love my zig pen too.
 smile emoticon
Veronica- Liquid glass or glossy accents for quick drying and stronghold of embellishments. My plus glue tape runner for paper or the ATC gun. 3D glue dots or zots for heavy and dimensional stuff.

Kim-   I was a die-hard Stampin' Up SNAIL Adhesive gal until I discovered cards I made were coming apart after sitting awhile; so like everyone else it seems I went to an ATG for general use. I use Scotts Quick Dry Liquid Adhesive if I need wiggle room when putting things together; especially 3D projects. Glossy Accents for heavier embellishments or a really good hold. Scor-Tape for card folds like easels, levers where I have to depend on that hold never pulling apart. And my newest love is Multi-Medium Matte Adhesive with a fine tip applicator for all the things needing just a tiny bit of glue or for detailed pieces.

ok, It's your turn to answer!!

GAIL send me a message to claim your prize!! And thanks for the great question!!

Winter Wonderland Blog Hop

Welcome to the Winter Wonderland Blog Hop

Today’s hop is filled with winter (not holiday) themed projects.  We hope they warm your heart on these cold winter days.
Today’s hop sponsored by:
Catherine is giving away a class of the winner’s choice from her great offerings at Creativity Grows Here.  You’re gonna love this prize!  To enter the drawing just leave a comment on each of the blogs in today’s hop.  EZ-PZ

The winner will be announced on Scraps by Gracie’s blog on Saturday, 1/30/16, so don’t forget to check back.
You should have arrived here from our hostess Theresa at ScrapsbyGracie.
Now to the projects!
I don't get snow where I live unless we get lots of rain and head to the Mountains. So when I heard about this hop I knew exactly what I wanted to create,  a Frozen themed layout using my new Frozen Cricut Cartridge. I am thrilled with how it turned out but let me just say it took days of cutting and piecing. I had blade issues, I had mat issues, I screamed and cussed at my Explore like never before. You will be glad to know everything is better now and we have made up and are friends again! LOL! So here it is, my pride and glory... I hope you enjoy it!

I used lots of glitter paper for the snowflakes, title, and the borders. It cut fairly easy in the Cricut but wore the blade down. My suggestion is save one blade for just glitter cardstock.

Elsa is gorgeous! Her top gave me all kinds of headaches. It just would not cut the details out. I finally changed the blade, the mat, and set the pressure to intricate and boom!! A perfect cut!

The snowflakes details are amazing to me. I love that the Explore was able to cut out all those fine lines.

Olaf is super cute and was honestly the easiest part of this layout.

My final touch was adding the sequins around the pages. It gives it just the right sparkle!

I am glad I made two of them!  Next time should be easier now that I know what to expect!
Up next is the talented  Jessica's  blog.
