This month we would like to celebrate the wonders of the world and celebrate different cultures. So please come along each week and let us guide you on this journey.

September 13th - LM #515 - Team A - China - The Chinese are well known for their Feng Shui. So this week we would love to see a layout that is balanced! Using the colours of the Chinese calendar - White and Blue.

*The Chinese year of the White Metal Rat has a main element of Water and is the "yang" and represents the beginning of a new day. The Chinese year colour Blue is for Trust, Honesty, and Loyalty. It increases the Immune Protection. It encourages us to open up with enthusiasm towards everything in life and make things wonderful around us, while at the same time helps us live in harmony.*

I have been working on my trip to Greece for seems like forever. This is one of my cover pages that will begin the amazing journey I took around the Parthenon and seeing the Acropolis! Perfect for this challenge.

YouTube Tuesday-Waterfall Card

Birthday Bear

Hi folks!  It's Kim from Katydid Cards and it's my day to post here at Connie Can Crop.

I made a card using the Birthday Bear digital stamp by our sponsor this month, Craftin' Desert Divas.  You can visit them on Facebook on their blog or at their store.

I just started seeing the card fold I used to make this card.  I don't know its official name if it even has one, but it's simple enough to make.  If you want to see the dimensions, you can find them on the Hints, Tips & Tutorials page.  I called it a Double Z Fold Card, for lack of a better name.

I used Raspberry Ripple and Island Indigo card stock for the card base and mats.  The patterned paper is from the Birthday Basics Collection (from the former My Digital Studio). To dress up the mats, I embossed the larger mat with Swiss Dots embossing folder and the smaller with Birthday Candles.

Inside, the sentiment sits on a mat the same size as the front mat and placed in the same spot so it's hidden underneath until the card is opened.

I added a snippet of the bear in the corner just to tie it together with the front.

YouTube Tuesday-Bugaboo Stamp's Stella Image Card

Hello everyone!  It's Kim from Katydid Cards with another YouTube Tuesday.

Today I'm sharing a video featuring "Stella", one of Bugaboo Stamps signature characters.  I have to admit, I love Stella and if you check her out at the Bugaboo store, you'll see that she speaks for a lot of women of "a certain age" when you're old enough to say it like it is!

There's nothing earth-shattering about the making of this card but she does mention she printed this image one and colored it.  Then she copied it and the copies were pretty good, saving her from having to color each image individually.  When you're making multiples of cards, this is a big time saver.

I know I'm going try this and I hope you do, too.  I also hope you will join us in our monthly challenge.  This month, a color challenge.

You Know You're Old...

Hello everyone!  It's Kim from Katydid Cards with you today to say, "You know you're old when..."

Boy, we can finish that sentence in any number of ways, can't we?  My card, featuring an image from our sponsor this month, Bugaboo Stamps, offers one way to complete the thought!

For this card, I used the Stella-Rocking Chair image.  Stella is a cantankerous old gal and has no problem in sharing her somewhat tarnished opinions...as I get older I find some of my opinions are starting to sound like hers!  Time for an attitude adjustment, I think!

To create the focal panel, I imported the image into my design screen and traced around the outside edge.  I welded it into a rectangle so the balloons extend slightly above the rectangle.  Next, I traced around the front balloon and the presents at Stella's feet so I could pop them for added interest.

Stella is matted on a rectangle I filled with digital patterned paper from the Party Time Kit by Amanda McGee.  I added two additional mats of Peach Parfait and Concord Crush before adding all to a base of Cucumber Crush (all retired Stampin' Up cardstocks).  To finish, some Glossy Accents on the balloons and her glasses.

The greeting was color matched to the purple in the patterned paper and printed on a curved banner using the text to path option in my Silhouette.  I matted it on the peach card stock.
Inside, I printed the sentiment in the same purple and double matted before adding.

I can actually relate to this; sad but true.  And there are times when I don't even need to be in a rocking chair to get that sensation!

Treat Bag Trio

Pin It Hello folks! It's Kim from Katydid Cards and it's my day to post here at Connie Can Crop with my design team project using some adorable cut files from our sponsor this month, Dreaming Tree.

I used the assembly videos to make these, no guessing where all the pieces should go.  They thought of everything when creating these bags; such attention to detail.   My blog has individual pictures if you're interested in seeing them.

Definitely should try one out! I was originally making one of their Thanksgiving table pieces, but I didn't get a chance to finish it.
