Hello my Crafty Friends!!

 I am super excited to be posting as a designer for Paper Crafting World today. I am so delighted to be able to share these adorable cut and digital files with you.

I am here today with another adorable wintertime layout featuring two cute files from Paper Crafting World.

I combined the Snow Fun Layout CF (this file is on sale for $1.00) (WOW!)  with the Snowman HFS Sign CF (also $1.00). You better head over to the shop now!!

 I added pop dots for some dimension and inked most of my pieces.

This snowman had a country feel to me so I decided to add faux stitching to some of the components. I am glad I did. I love the result!

 I also added a few tiny buttons to the centers of the snowflakes.

 The Happy Freezin Season sign is actually a Print then Cut which worked out perfectly. It's super cute too!

HAPPY TUESDAY!! I hope everyone is keeping warm this week. Here in Florida it has been chilly. I had to wear...SOCKS!! Can you believe it. Craziness!! This is a good week to stay inside and get crafty. Check out this fun video on Loom Knitting.

What is the best type of glue to use? - I am experimenting with glues but would like to know what others have found that work well.

Connie- I use a variety of tapes. My go to is the ATG gun. I use that for most paper things. I also love pop dots and am not really picky on which brand. For embellishments like buttons and bling I use CTMH's Liquid glass. It's the bomb!! I also use a Xyron and a CTMH glue pen for Cricut cuts and can't forget the jumbo CTMH glue pen for restickying my Cricut mat.

Daphne- It depends what I am using it for. For paper I like Scott's. If I need it to be clear I use Zip Dry and Helmar. And if I am trying to adhere wood or metal I use E6000!! 

There are so many types of adhesives that it is very much just a personal preference.

Angela- I was going to write the same thing as Veronica!! I love liquid glass...atg gun is my go to for big stuff and I love my zig pen too.

Veronica- Liquid glass or glossy accents for quick drying and stronghold of embellishments. My plus glue tape runner for paper or the ATC gun. 3D glue dots or zots for heavy and dimensional stuff.

Kim-   I was a die-hard Stampin' Up SNAIL Adhesive gal until I discovered cards I made were coming apart after sitting awhile; so like everyone else it seems I went to an ATG for general use. I use Scotts Quick Dry Liquid Adhesive if I need wiggle room when putting things together; especially 3D projects. Glossy Accents for heavier embellishments or a really good hold. Scor-Tape for card folds like easels, levers where I have to depend on that hold never pulling apart. And my newest love is Multi-Medium Matte Adhesive with a fine tip applicator for all the things needing just a tiny bit of glue or for detailed pieces.

Now to the projects!  

I don't get snow where I live unless we get lots of rain and head to the Mountains. So when I heard about this hop I knew exactly what I wanted to create,  a Frozen themed layout using my new Frozen Cricut Cartridge. I am thrilled with how it turned out but let me just say it took days of cutting and piecing. I had blade issues, I had mat issues, I screamed and cussed at my Explore like never before. You will be glad to know everything is better now and we have made up and are friends again! LOL! So here it is, my pride and glory... I hope you enjoy it!

I used lots of glitter paper for the snowflakes, title, and the borders. It cut fairly easy in the Cricut but wore the blade down. My suggestion is save one blade for just glitter cardstock.

 

Elsa is gorgeous! Her top gave me all kinds of headaches. It just would not cut the details out. I finally changed the blade, the mat, and set the pressure to intricate and boom!! A perfect cut!

The snowflakes details are amazing to me. I love that the Explore was able to cut out all those fine lines.

Olaf is super cute and was honestly the easiest part of this layout.

My final touch was adding the sequins around the pages. It gives it just the right sparkle!

I am glad I made two of them!  Next time should be easier now that I know what to expect!

For my project I used the In the Band file.

I am president of our Music Boosters so I created some thank you cards for our Booster program using this fun file.  

This thank you card is a hybrid...meaning I printed the font and the music notes out on my printer first and then I cut the musical instruments out on my explore and pieced them together.

Since I am making 30 cards I needed a short cut.

I loved this file so much I figured why stop there. So I created some awesome name tags for the board members, that we proudly wear at our functions.

I can not wait to create a layout using this file! It's super cute! 

And I have a ton of Band photos to scrap.

she wants to know:

Do you keep all those little offcuts of cardstock/patterned paper. I have a box full that I don't think I will ever use, but hate to throw these little pieces out, just incase.

Connie- I do! I have a medium Close To My Heart Storage Box Full of them that I take with me to crops and another container that I leave at home. Those scraps are great for cards but I use them mostly for die cutting with my Cricut. I hate wasting a full sheet of paper for a small flower or pair of eyeballs.

Daphne- Yes I have WAY too many scraps. I have been trying to learn to thin some of them out. I keep every little scrap when I am working on a project. But once I am done with the project I toss anything that is small now. I still have lots of scraps for my specialty paper. I also have a filing system by color of all my bazzill scraps.

Angela- Yes! I have a file folder from creative memories that stores scraps so well! I do by color, and then the back is glitter card stock and patterned (as well as holiday theme). I also have a folder system for my HTV and then 2 for vinyl (indoor and outdoor). I've made goals with all my hops I'm in, I can only use scraps. Helps a lot!

Veronica- Well, for this one my answer is that I do. I usually keep the scraps with the paper packs (ctmh wotg) or in with their solid companions. I also have coupon folders full of scraps sorted by color (I wish I kept doing this ...) or big folder plastic envelopes with all mixed scraps. The worst ones are the cricut leftovers or negatives. I try, when I get a chance to punch shapes out of them (butterflies, hearts, stars,...) or I put my kids to that task. I used to send those shapes to my kids' preK teacher. Now I have a big chaos. I need to go back to organizing by colors and make shapes. And of course use them later...

Kim-  Oh yes, I have lots and lots and LOTS of scraps. I have them divided into colors in a cropper hopper, but I have more than the hopper will hold, so now I have a stack to file sitting on top. It's cumbersome to get into this hopper now so what do I do? I go get a new sheet of card stock and create still more scraps! One of my projects this year is to go in and tame this wild beast and get rid of anything small. Then I'm going to take some larger pieces and dry emboss them for give-aways on my blog. That way I get rid of them without throwing them out.
