Throwback Thursdays

Sorry I know it is Friday! Yesterday the boys started back to school so the day was a little hectic around here. But none the less I am here with another fun flashback!
Thought it would be fun to showcase a layout of my boys both starting school for the first time. My oldest was going in to 2nd and my youngest was going to preschool for the first time ever!

Seems like so long ago!

This layout features a kit from Storytellersclub (my sponsor for the challenge this month).

 How quickly they grow up!

This photo was  taken yesterday. My oldest is now a sophomore and my youngest in 7th grade! Sigh! Miss them as little kids!! They are now young men!

Thanks for this trip down memory lane! Wishing everyone a fabulous school year!

Happy Crafting and Scrappy Hugs,

You Tube Tuesdays

Inking Over Embossing
Hello Crafty Friends!!

Every Tuesday I will be featuring a new You Tube
video that pertains to scrapbooking, card making, or crafting in general. Some
of the videos may come from me, Connie Can Crop but most of them will be coming
from various videos that have already been uploaded by someone on You Tube. This is a great way to see some new things, become inspired, and learn different techniques.

I have a ton of embossing powder and I never use it. So I thought that maybe this video would inspire me to pull it out and use it with some of my many stamps.

This video is by Kim Burmeister and she is demonstrating how easy it is to make a gorgeous card using this technique.

Join me tomorrow for Wednesdays Winners!!! Wohoo!
And don't forget to enter the new monthly challenge Back to School!!

Sketchy Saturdays

Welcome to Sketchy Saturdays!

A new post on Saturdays (sometimes Sundays) featuring a  fun card or scrapbooking sketch on my blog.

Looking for inspiration and need a kick jump on that next layout?

Look no more! I will be showcasing some of my favorite sketches ever!

I pulled this sketch off scrapbooking.about.com. The cute road sign makes me think this would be perfect for any vacation layouts. What do you think?

I can't wait to use this one!

My kids start school in one week and I start back to school in 2 weeks!! Yikes!

My Challenge this month:
Back to School

I want you to create a project using a school supply!

Ideas for school supplies can be staples, paper clips, tape, a ruler, a thumb tack, chalk, lined paper...you get the idea, right?

Please create one layout, card, or other project. Your layout can be single page or double page. You may use any other products you wish. Just be sure that the above listed items are on your project. When you are finished with your project please post it here in this thread.

This month I will allow two entries per person. (Just to be fair!)

Entries are due by Saturday, August 31st at 11:59 pm.

I will draw one lucky winner from all entries and they will receive a great prize

from StorytellersClub.

They have donated a tote bag along with three Scrapbooking Kits.
You can visit them on Facebook  https://www.facebook.com/StoryTellersClub
Online at  http://www.storytellersclub.com/StoryTellersScrapbookPack.aspx
And Join in their discussion boards and challenges at http://storytellers.lefora.com/

AND don't forget the winner gets
a custom blinkie for you to display on your own blog!! YAY!

You need to link your project up below using Mr. Linky. You have until midnight August 31st to link it up.
I will draw one random winner. My winner will not be based on skill or talent, but based on just completing the challenge. Sorry but I can not ship to other countries. I would still love for you to play. However if you win, I will ask that you pay postage for the shipping charges.
Good luck and can't wait to see your creations!

Throwback Thursdays

It's Thursday and it's August!! OMGeee!!
Can't believe that school starts in a week!
So this past weekend my oldest celebrated his 15th Birthday!

 How quickly they grow up!
This week I'd like to go back to one of my first ever layouts featuring my brave little guy.

He was extremely ill as a newborn and had 2 surgeries in his first 3 months of life. But he was strong and fought his way through. I can't help but think back to those days of prayer and how much we trusted in God to see him through. I am very blessed to be his mother!! Love him so much!
It's a pretty busy layout!! Nothing like I create now. But my main focus on this layout was my sweet boy and his story. The journaling is the most important thing to me on this layout.
Sometimes you just need to tell the story!
Thanks for this trip down memory lane! And Happy Birthday Jefferson Evan!!
Happy Crafting and Scrappy Hugs,

You Tube Tuesdays

Creating a Shape Card with Cricut Birthday Bash
Hello Crafty Friends!!

Every Tuesday I will be featuring a new You Tube
video that pertains to scrapbooking, card making, or crafting in general. Some
of the videos may come from me, Connie Can Crop but most of them will be coming
from various videos that have already been uploaded by someone on You Tube. This is a great way to see some new things, become inspired, and learn different techniques.

Going in line with this week's challenge at FCCB I thought that this tutorial would be perfect for everyone who is afraid to create shaped cards with their Cricuts. It is actually not as hard as you think (depending on the cartridge).

This video is by Robin from Robin's Creative Cottage and she is making the cutest roller skate birthday card using Birthday Bash.
